Cameron and Bear met online in early 2017 but officially met in person in March 3, 2017. Their first date was just a few days later on March 6 at How To Cook A Wolf in Queen Anne, so it was only appropriate that we begin their engagement session at that very spot.
From the couple:
It was an amazing first date that started early in the night and before we realized it, it was closing time! We had both thought of a creative idea to do a wine exchange for dinner, and one of the wines has become our favorite, while the other we use to cook with.
We continue to celebrate our calendar dates at How To Cook A Wolf. Our 6 month, 1 Year, and the engagement night. November 3, 2018 was our date night, and it was at the restaurant. The entire team at the restaurant knew what Bear had planned, so they helped set up the same table we had our first date at, same bottle of wine we enjoy, and coordinated with the waiters on capturing the moment on video. It all worked out perfectly, and we have a special video of the moment.
Meg and the staff at How To Cook A Wolf were incredibly accommodating, giving us access in the afternoon before the restaurant opened for dinner service. We arrived at How To Cook A Wolf and Meg was ready for Cameron and Bear with fresh flowers and coupe glasses full of sparkling rose. I can’t think of a better way to kick off an engagement session! Cameron and Bear relived their first date and engagement by beginning the session at “their table” and then we moved closer to the window to take in the pretty afternoon light.
Once we finished up at How To Cook A Wolf, we explored Queen Anne’s hidden alleys and neighborhood streets. We ended the session at Kerry Park (with about half of the city in attendance). Kerry Park on a sunny day is a guaranteed mob scene but somehow we managed to snag a few photos without people in the background!
I met Cameron and Bear (and Cameron’s mom Judy) a couple months ago for coffee and to chat about their wedding plans. They have a full wedding weekend planned with two different events! We immediately connected – and I couldn’t help but tear up when Bear shared their proposal video with me. Cameron and Bear are getting married this May at The Foundry by Herban Feast followed by an Eritrean celebration the next day. I cannot wait to capture their day as it unfolds at The Foundry!
