A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting up with Sarah and Nicholas for their Pioneer Square engagement session! Sarah had a vision of having holiday lights in her engagement photos, and Nicholas wanted to shoot in the city – so Pioneer Square was the perfect location for their engagement session. There are so many beautiful hidden alleyways and colors in the city, and Occidental Square is beautifully draped in holiday lights this time of year! Our session started at Union Station (which, during our time there, was being set up for a party so there were chairs and tables and catering stations everywhere.) and then we made the walk to Pioneer Square.
A little backstory on how I came to meet these two. Nicholas and I actually went to school together years ago! We hadn’t been in touch since we were school aged, but somehow Sarah and Nicholas found me! During our initial consultation Sarah and Nicholas explained that they wanted to try their hardest to find vendors for their wedding that they had personal relationships with. Their sense of community and heart for small business is something special.
Nicholas and Sarah met over five years ago over Memorial Day weekend while camping at Moses Lake, however they didn’t officially meet until the 4th of July. For their first date, they ended up sitting in Sarah’s car talking for hours. Fast forward five years and Nicholas proposed at Christmas Eve dinner.
One of the things I love most about my job is reconnecting with old friends (and making new ones!). Relationships are the heart of my business. My heart’s desire is to develop strong relationships with each of my couples so that their experience working with me is just that: an experience. (So if you’re looking for a transactional “relationship” with your wedding photographer – I’m probably not the girl for you.) My relationship with Sarah and Nicholas came so naturally – possibly because Nicholas and I grew up going to the same schools. I am so excited to be working with these two during this season of their life! Sarah and Nicholas are getting married next August at Stonehouse 101 in Roslyn.
