Jamie and Ryan’s Seattle MBar wedding is one you don’t want to miss! From the party bus ride into the city from their Snohomish home, to the gorgeous rooftop setting with the Space Needle in view, to the STUNNING bridal party, to the OUT OF THIS WORLD TOASTS, to the party bus ride back to Snohomish… These two love birds truly know how to party, laugh, and most importantly – LOVE.
Jamie and Ryan and I have mutual friends – so when Jamie inquired about my wedding photography services, I was over the moon excited! Turns out, not only do we have mutual friends, my dad and Ryan’s dad worked together for a number of years! We didn’t make that connection until I was packing up to leave at the end of my coverage hours, but I’m so happy we did! I continue to be amazed at how small of a world we live in.
How they met, as told by Jamie:
I was introduced to Ryan by his best friend, Larry, whom I’ve known through work for 5 years. Larry and I were in New Orleans presenting at doctor dinners (I hosted the dinners with my company and Larry’s company presented) and he mentioned that he wanted me to meet Ryan at our next event in Bellevue, WA. I declined as I didn’t want to get into a long-distance relationship, or even consider one, but he showed me a picture of Ryan so I agreed to meet him at the end of the month. In November 2017, I hosted the dinner at Daniel’s Broiler in Bellevue and Ryan showed up prior to the event to meet me. He stuck around the bar the entire evening until our dinner was finished so he could spend some time with us. Within the first five minutes of speaking to him, I knew he was special! We spent the entire evening hanging out and he ended up coming back to Bellevue the next day to take me to lunch. Nine months of dating later and I moved to WA.
Their proposal story… which is quite possibly one of the CUTEST one’s I’ve heard in some time!
I had NO CLUE it was going to happen. It was Thanksgiving in 2018 and my family was visiting from Nashville to meet Ryan’s parents (and siblings) for the first time. I was so flustered trying to host my first co-family Thanksgiving I didn’t think twice about a proposal. When lunch/dinner rolled around, Ryan stood at the head of the table with my niece Alyss, and his two children, Jack & Devyn. He suggested that we all go around the table and say one thing we’re thankful for. The kids went first then Ryan chimed in. He started on a diatribe about how lucky he was to have met me and have the family in town and as a known ‘rambler’ (he’s very long-winded), he talked so much that his daughter (just turned 6 at the time) shouted out, “You should kiss her!” After laughing for a minute, he came over to my side of the table and kissed me. Then he continued to talk! After another minute of talking, his daughter shouted again (totally impromptu since she didn’t know what was happening), “You should get married!” And about 30 seconds later, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of the whole table. It was so special to have the entire family there….especially my mum who got a front row seat!
Editing this wedding was a happy-tear filled journey for me. The pure JOY on both Jamie and Ryan’s face made me lose it multiple times. My husband and I have a marriage that’s deeply rooted in laughter – so to encounter another couple that clearly enjoys to laugh together, what seems as much as my hubby and I do, really struck a chord with me. I am so thrilled for these two, their kiddos, and their families.
